The spring conference for the Redondo Beach Power Squadron was a very special one.  Another one of our members was becoming a District Commander, Marla Brown, JN., who was preceded by her husband John Brown, JN District Commander.  Officiating was National Administrating Officer, VC Frank Dvorak, SN accompanied by his lovely wife Vivien. Two of the most delightful people.  As always in our district conference Friday nights are a fun night, we have host rooms.  For this conference the theme was "Rescue Ships"

Saturday is of course the business meetings and seminars and the passing from the old to the new district commander and the new district bridge.  Also that's when we give out the awards.  We also set up our ship's store.

Saturday evening is dinner dance and the "Tom Cod Schooling".  This is something only our district does, When you end your watch you are a useless as a tom cod, we have special hats and a burgee just for the old stinky fish.
